The President of Kazakhstan received the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, who arrived in Astana on an official visit.
Welcoming the Turkmen diplomat, the Head of State expressed satisfaction with the current state of Kazakh-Turkmen relations, which are systematically strengthened in the spirit of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership.

– We consider Turkmenistan as a reliable strategic partner, as a state that is close to us both in spirit and history. Indeed, in recent years, cooperation between our countries has developed along an ascending line and acquired new dynamics, including in strategic sectors of the economy,” the President noted.

Taking this opportunity, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev conveyed his best wishes to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Rashid Meredov expressed gratitude for the traditionally warm welcome and confirmed Ashgabat’s commitment to further enhancing bilateral cooperation with Astana across the entire spectrum of interstate relations.

During the conversation, the progress of implementation of major projects in the trade, economic, energy and transport and logistics spheres was reviewed. The importance of bringing them to their logical conclusion was noted, which will again confirm the special nature of relations between the two fraternal states.

Special attention was paid to deepening the cultural and humanitarian dimension, which is filled with new content every year.

The interlocutors discussed current issues on the regional and international agenda, and also reviewed the schedule of upcoming contacts at the highest level.
