28 May, 2024

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as MLSPP), as part of the implementation of the Concept of Migration Policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2027, is developing bilateral agreements to ensure the labor and social rights of labor migrants with countries attracting a significant number of Kazakh citizens.

To date, draft agreements on regulating labor issues and protecting the rights of migrant workers have been developed with countries such as Turkey, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Great Britain, the Republic of Korea, Israel, Germany, Latvia and New Zealand.

At the same time, an agreement has already been reached with Qatar, which regulates the procedure for the entry, stay and exit of labor migrants; protection of their rights in terms of pay and working conditions, compensation; procedure for compensation for damage in the event of injury during the performance of work duties, etc.

In the future, all bilateral agreements reached will make it possible to ensure the labor and social rights of both labor migrants from Kazakhstan and from counterparty countries.

Also, together with the Ministry of Labor and Employment of the Republic of Korea, work is underway to include Kazakhstan in the South Korean Employment Permit System (hereinafter referred to as EPS), which will allow our citizens to legally find employment in South Korea, as well as provide them with equal working conditions and protection of rights.

In addition, work is underway to create a center for training Kazakhstanis on the EPS system in Konaev.
