A meeting between President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, who arrived in Astana on a working visit, took place in Akorda.
The interlocutors examined the prospects for expanding interaction in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
– I remember our meeting in 2015 with warmth. We appreciate your personal contribution to the promotion and development of our mutually beneficial cooperation. We know that you are currently the longest serving Prime Minister of your country and have vast international experience. I would also like to note the dynamic development of our bilateral cooperation. The Netherlands is the largest investor in our economy. The volume of direct investment exceeded $120 billion. Our countries are implementing large-scale joint projects,” the Head of State emphasized.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the importance of the visit of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands in terms of giving additional impetus to the development of trade and economic relations between Astana and Amsterdam.
In turn, Mark Rutte highly appreciated the level of bilateral partnership. He also spoke in favor of intensifying practical interaction between Kazakhstan and the Netherlands.
– I first visited Astana in 2010, it was my first trip outside the EU as the new Prime Minister. And then my visit took place in 2015. I remember our negotiations well. I am always amazed at how rapidly our bilateral relations are developing, and I have deep respect for Kazakhstan’s balanced position on the regional and international agenda.I also respect what you personally are doing to take the country to the next level. We will be happy to share the ideas and developments that we have in the field of agriculture, green energy, and water resources management,” said the Head of the Dutch Government.
During the negotiations, ways to strengthen trade, economic, energy and investment cooperation, as well as contacts in the fields of transport, innovation, nuclear energy, agriculture, healthcare, climate, and water resources management were discussed in detail.
In addition, the interlocutors exchanged views on current issues on the international and regional agenda. The importance of continuing the dialogue within the framework of interaction with the European Union was emphasized.
