A roundtable on digital journalism in Central Asia and China to be held in Almaty

On February 26, 2025, Almaty will host a roundtable discussion on "Digital Journalism in Central Asia and China: Local Challenges and Global Trends."

The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Narxoz University, the UN Department of Global Communications Representation in Kazakhstan – UN Information Bureau in Kazakhstan, and the Central Asia-China Association for Journalism Studies.

Leading experts, researchers, and journalists will discuss the impact of artificial intelligence and digital technologies on the development of the media landscape in Central Asia and China.

The roundtable is part of the 2025 Plan for Media Literacy Development and Professional Training of Media Specialists, initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Information.

Discussion Topics:

  • The future of journalism amid digital transformation and artificial intelligence;
  • The use of big data and automated analytics in the media sector;
  • International experience and the prospects for media development in the digital era.
