Today, the Astana Hub presented the first digital map of drug crime, developed jointly with gifted youth with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Last year, Astana Hub and the youth wing of “Zhastar Rukhy” held an Amanat Tech hackathon, where the “Shalqyma” team of Nazarbayev Intellectual School students took the prize with the idea of creating a map for monitoring drug crime in real time. The idea was supported by Esbol Qory, which helped develop and launch the digital drug crime map.
The map will be updated in real time on the esbol.kz website. Any active citizen can flag signs of drug crime.
In his speech, the representative of Esbol Qory emphasized that the Head of State has repeatedly noted that the fight against drug addiction and drug crime must be national in nature.
“The launch of this card is a fear for all drug dealers. The President said that the fight against this disease requires national attention, and each of us must do our part - be it an active citizen or an entrepreneur. Now every citizen can mark the places of pawnbrokers and prevent them from selling poison,” said Chairman of the Esbol Qory Foundation Zhandos Aktaev.
The launch of this map is aimed at increasing civic engagement and combating the spread of drug crime. In pilot mode, the card will be tested in Astana, and after successful testing it is planned to be applied at the entire country level.
