A solemn ceremony was held for the reintroduction of Przewalski's horses - Kerkulan, Kertagy into the Altyn Dala Nature Reserve. The event was attended by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Nysanbaev, Akim of the Kostanay region Kumar Aksakalov, members of the delegation from the Czech Republic led by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Kazakhstan Pavol Shepelak.
In order to preserve the biodiversity of Kazakhstan, within the framework of the international project "Return of Wild Horses", 8 heads of Przewalski's horses were delivered from the Czech Republic by a special military transport aircraft of the Czech Armed Forces - (Kerkulan, Kertagy), for reintroduction on the territory of the state natural reserve "Altyn Dala" " In total, 40 individuals are planned to be returned to their historical homeland.
Thanks to the fruitful cooperation of specialists from Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic, within the framework of an international agreement between the two republics, 40 individuals of these rare animals will be reintroduced into the Kostanay region (in the Amangeldinsky and Zhangeldinsky districts).
Representatives of the Kazakhstan Association for Biodiversity Conservation (ASBC) and about 40 representatives from the Czech Republic and Germany, including journalists, took an active part in the event.
