The Days of Archives of the Republic of Uzbekistan, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, began in Shymkent.

As part of the event, an international scientific and practical conference was held on the topic “Current problems in the history of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.”

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Committee of Archives, Documentation and Book Affairs of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Uzarchive agency, the akimat of the city of Shymkent, the state archives of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as historians, local historians and cultural workers.

At the conference, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Archives, Documentation and Book Affairs of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Rollan Kuspan read a congratulatory letter from the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balaeva.

“We not only have common borders, we are fraternal peoples with similar history and culture, literature and art. Strategically important joint projects are being implemented with the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at achieving great goals in the Central Asian region. Today, cultural cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan is developing dynamically and is constantly expanding thanks to the policies of our Heads of State. I am confident that through joint efforts we will achieve success in studying the cultural heritage of our countries, identifying valuable historical information stored in the state archival funds of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan,” it says.

In turn, Deputy Chairman of the Uzarchive Agency under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Sadykov noted that his agency provides maximum support for the comprehensive development and strengthening of relations in the archival sphere between the two countries.   

The conference discussed the place and role of archival documents in the study of history, the state and prospects for the development of the archival industry, as well as modern technologies for ensuring the safety of archival documents.

Also, as part of the international event, exhibitions organized by the state archives of the two countries were held.
