The State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Bozok" hosted the presentation of the first issue of the historical comic book "The Journey of Alikhan and Aikerim."
The event was attended by representatives of the creative community, the scientific community, and educators from general education schools in the capital.
According to the Concept of Cultural Policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023–2029, approved by a Government Resolution, efforts are being made to engage children and adolescents in reading and promote Kazakhstani literature through the creation of children's comics with a national touch, covering Kazakh heroes, historical events, mythology, and contemporary trends.
Following international practices, the Bozok Museum-Reserve has published this book, aimed at young readers. The comic book is available in three languages: Kazakh, Russian, and English.
The artist behind the comic is Beken Baizakovich Zhaparov, a designer at the Bozok Museum-Reserve.
The main plot of the comic is based on historical data from archaeological excavations of the medieval settlement of Bozok.
As part of the event, participants discussed the role of children's literature in shaping historical consciousness among younger generations, the need to promote historical and cultural heritage, and the prospects for developing children's educational projects.
