A Belarusian delegation led by the Director of the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, Boris Gorkavy, visited Astana.
A meeting took place between the head of the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lieutenant Colonel Talgat Kulzhanbekov, and his Belarusian colleague. The parties shared their best practices in the field of archival management. In modern realities, existing arrays of documents are converted into digital format, which contributes to their preservation, systematization and the possibility of rapid transfer to any distance.
The negotiations touched upon issues of providing assistance in searching for missing Kazakhstanis during the Great Patriotic War. The interlocutors noted that the exchange of documents from this period is of interest to families who have lost their loved ones, to search engines and to military historians.
During the visit, members of the Belarusian delegation got acquainted with the exhibitions of the State Military History Museum of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and also visited iconic objects of the capital.
