Members of the Public Council on Social and Labor Sphere at the regular meeting heard from employees of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as MLSPP) on issues of current work. In particular, amendments to legislation in the field of migration, measures taken to ensure safety and labor protection, the Methodology for determining the minimum monthly wage, and others were discussed.

The event was attended by the head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection Bolat Tokezhanov, members of the Public Council, chairmen of committees and directors of departments of the department.

Chairman of the Migration Committee of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection Askarbek Ertaev spoke in detail about the changes made to the legislation and current regulations governing internal migration processes, the procedure for assigning status, reception and resettlement of candidates, as well as support measures for them and internal migrants.

The head of the Labor and Social Protection Committee, Tolegen Ospankulov, reported on the current situation regarding occupational injuries and deaths at work and the measures taken to prevent them.

In turn, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor and Social Partnership of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marzhan Zhaumitova informed about the main directions of the Safe Labor Concept of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2024-2030, upcoming changes within the framework of its implementation and the list of legal acts required for adoption, and also spoke in detail about the Methodology for determining minimum monthly wage.

In addition, she reported that as of June 12 of this year. 7.8 thousand people were covered by special social payments for people who worked for a long time in hazardous working conditions. 

At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Public Council, Olga Kuzovleva, made a proposal to update its composition in connection with the departure of two members and to carry out the appropriate procedures.
