The Science Foundation met with leading international expert Mukhit Kulmaganbetov

The Science Foundation met with leading international expert Mukhit Kulmaganbetov, head of the Hong Kong Laboratory of Quantum Ophthalmology and expert at the Research Institute of Eye Diseases in Kazakhstan.

Mukhit Kulmaganbetov is known for his breakthrough research in the early detection of retinal cell apoptosis, which is critical for preventing diseases such as glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration and Alzheimer's disease. His work is aimed at identifying changes in retinal cells at the earliest stages, which can significantly increase the effectiveness of treatment and prevention of these serious diseases.

The Hong Kong laboratory, located at the University of Waterloo and Hong Kong Polytechnic University's Eye Research Centre, is home to an international team of highly qualified specialists, including Nobel laureates.
