The Ministry of Tourism and Sports reported in which regions of the country ethno-tourism is developing well, a Kazinform.agency correspondent reports.

— The development of ethnotourism in the Almaty and Turkestan regions is at a higher level than in other regions of the country. Tours are organized to these regions based on national traditions and culture. In addition, ethnic villages are being created to demonstrate the lifestyle and crafts of the Kazakh people. In the Turkestan region, ethnotours are offered based on the heritage of the Great Silk Road, the department reported, responding to a request from an agency correspondent.
At the same time, the ministry found it difficult to provide information on how many tourists visited Kazakhstan in the area of ​​ethno-tourism last year. As it turned out, separate official statistics are not kept in this segment.

“However, if you look at the indicators in the tourism sector in general, you can see that this area is also developing rapidly. Most tourists to Kazakhstan come from countries such as Russia, China and Germany. Among them there are many people interested in ethnotourism. In addition, tourists from Arab countries are very interested in ethnotourism. The rich cultural heritage and beautiful nature of Kazakhstan attract the attention of foreign tourists, and there is hope that this industry will continue to develop, MTS added.
