The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan has reported on the results of the taxation rules for foreign internet companies (commonly known as the "Google Tax"), which were introduced in 2022 under Chapter 25 of the Tax Code.
Currently, 101 foreign companies are registered in Kazakhstan under this tax regulation, including Huawei, Aliexpress, Google, Apple, Netflix, and other international corporations. Over the past three years, these companies have paid 75 billion tenge in taxes, with 35 billion tenge collected in the last year alone.
At the end of 2024, companies such as TEMU, Pinduoduo, and the Alibaba Group also completed conditional registration in Kazakhstan.
This tax applies to foreign companies engaged in e-commerce of goods and the provision of digital services to individuals in Kazakhstan.
