The first major creative hub has opened its doors in the capital. The creative space was opened on the instructions of the Head of State. At the third meeting of the National Kurultai, Kasym-Jomart Tokayev expressed confidence that this sphere will become one of the most important points of the country's economic progress.
Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva, deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Andrey Lukin and Akim of Astana Zhenis Kasymbek took part in the opening ceremony. The guests got acquainted with the masters of arts and crafts, noting that the preservation of traditional Kazakh ornament is of great importance for the preservation of Kazakh identity.
The three-storey building with an area of 1.5 thousand square metres will become a platform for networking and creation of creative industries projects.
The hub is divided into several thematic zones: a bookstore and reading room of products of national publishers, ethno-museum, craft workshops, a platform for modern art performances, musical and literary evenings, as well as a gallery of contemporary art and the project ‘Smart nomad games’.
Similar hubs are planned to be opened in all regions of Kazakhstan. They will facilitate the creation and commercialisation of creative projects, as well as the inclusion of hundreds of specialists in the creative market.
