Transportation of Russian, Turkmen and Uzbek gas through Kazakhstan will be increased in 2024

Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliev at the government meeting reported on the development of the gas industry of the country.

Work is underway to fully utilise the country's gas transit potential.

Transit of Russian gas to Uzbekistan was launched in October 2023. In 2023, 1.28 billion m3 was transported, this year we plan to increase it to 3.8 billion m3 with further increase to 11 billion m3/year.

Transit of Turkmen and Uzbek gas to the People's Republic of China also shows steady growth. This year we plan to increase transit to 37.1 billion m3 (+1.5 billion m3 compared to last year).

In addition, the issue of increasing transit of Russian gas to Kyrgyzstan is under discussion.
