An agreement has been signed between Coventry University Kazakhstan and Financial Center JSC, granting participants of the Unified Voluntary Savings System "Keleshek" a tuition discount of up to 20% at the university.
On February 18, a Memorandum of Cooperation was officially signed between Coventry University Kazakhstan and Financial Center JSC, the operator of Kazakhstan's state-funded educational savings system. The document was signed by Miras Daulenov, President of Coventry University Kazakhstan, and Askar Ibrahimov, Chairman of the Board of Financial Center JSC. The agreement provides a discount of up to 20% on tuition fees at the first British university campus in Astana.
Under the "Keleshek" system, once a child reaches the age of five, the government will allocate an initial educational capital of 60 MCI (235,920 KZT), while orphans will receive 120 MCI (471,840 KZT). Additionally, an annual state bonus of 5–7% will be provided, along with interest payments from a participating bank or investment returns from a life insurance company (LIC). These funds can be used for higher education, allowing children to accumulate savings from an early age to pursue their educational goals.
"The support of the 'Keleshek' system by top international universities such as Coventry University Kazakhstan creates unique opportunities for young Kazakhstanis. This initiative not only facilitates access to high-quality global education but also enhances students' competitiveness in the international arena. The 'Keleshek' system provides children with the chance to realize their potential, while partnerships with leading foreign universities strengthen Kazakhstan's ties with the global educational community, opening new avenues for youth development and growth," said Askar Ibrahimov, Chairman of the Board of Financial Center JSC.
"Coventry University Kazakhstan is one of the first institutions to support the initiative of establishing the Unified Voluntary Savings System 'Keleshek.' As a social project aimed at supporting talented youth, the university integrates global educational standards with innovative teaching approaches, offering students access to high-quality and affordable British education," stated Miras Daulenov, President of Coventry University Kazakhstan.
