Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ermek Marzhikpaev held a meeting with the Chairman of the Olympic Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Bariev. During the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation in the field of sports, as well as upcoming international competitions.

The head of the department noted the successful organisation of international competitions and stressed that at the BRICS Games, the national team of Kazakhstan was represented by 114 athletes in 16 sports. The minister paid special attention to the 5th World Nomad Games and the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris.

‘Co-operation between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan in the field of sports opens new horizons for our athletes. We see great potential in the exchange of experience and joint preparation for international competitions, which will allow us to reach even greater heights,’ said Ermek Marzhikpaev.

The Minister also emphasised that the Russian national team has confirmed participation in the World Nomad Games with about 200 participants in almost all sports.

According to the submitted application, athletes from Tatarstan will take part in 6 sports: Alysh, Audaryspak (horseback riding), Ashyrtmaly Aba Gyureshi, Kazak Kuresi, Koresh and Kurash.

At the end of the meeting, the Minister expressed confidence in the excellence of Tatarstan's athletes at the World Nomad Games to be held in Astana in September this year.
