The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the RK has developed a draft law ‘On ratification of the Convention on the Establishment of Minimum Wages with Special Consideration for Developing Countries (Convention 131)’. The document is posted on the portal ‘Open NAP’ for public discussion until 8 August 2024.

Adoption of the draft law will allow to establish a fair level of minimum wage taking into account the needs of workers and their households, will ensure further implementation of international standards in terms of setting the level of minimum wage and will confirm Kazakhstan's commitment to compliance and fulfilment of international norms in this area.

The adoption of the draft law will not entail negative socio-economic and/or legal consequences.
