26 July, 2024

Rae Kwon Chung, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize for his contribution to the fight against climate change, visited the Berel Museum-Reserve. During the visit, the guest from South Korea was impressed by the thousand-year history of the Great Steppe, the culture of the Saks and Turks.

During the excursion the guests were told that to date ‘Berel’ is the only monument in Kazakhstan that has preserved the findings of organics. Thanks to the burials of nomadic nobility found here and highly artistic products made in the unique Scytho-Siberian animal style, the monument became world famous.

The guests also got acquainted with such unique exhibits as clothes, horse equipment, wooden items, saddles, fabrics, wooden utensils, leather and felt products, which belonged to nomads who lived in the Early Iron Age and have been preserved in pristine condition.

It should be noted that the museum-reserve is also popular among Kazakhstanis. Since the beginning of the year ‘Berel’ was visited by almost five thousand tourists.
