Vice-Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mansur Oshurbaev held a meeting with the Ambassador of Pakistan to Kazakhstan Nauman Bashir and his deputy. The main focus of the meeting was on the activities of the Council of the Foundation for Loss and Damage, as well as the Vice-Minister noted the support provided to Kazakhstan in the appointment of an alternative member of the Fund.
During the meeting they also held discussions on the prospects of cooperation with the Green Climate Foundation, in particular, discussed the selection of members of the Council of the fifth Board of the GCF for 2025-2027.
At the same time, both sides discussed plans for the upcoming 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), emphasised the importance of achieving ambitious climate change targets and fulfilling commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable development.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to enhance co-operation to achieve the goals set out in the Paris Agreement and other international climate change instruments.
