The World Team Rapid and Blitz Championship in Astana continued with a good Kazakh tradition. The famous Chinese chess player, the 17th World Champion Ding Lizhen held a tusaukeser ceremony for the young Kazakhstani.
"Our family is especially happy that our son's first steps coincided with this major championship in Astana, which brings together the stars of world chess. It is a great honor for us that the current World Champion Ding Lizhen, who is distinguished by his serious character, integrity and great talent, held this important ceremony for the Kazakh people. Let the path of our son Chingis be bright, let him also be a fighter, known for his worthy work, a valiant citizen of his country," said his father Asylkhan Karayev.
Karayev himself is a chess player, arbiter and FIDE master. "The son may not follow in his father's footsteps, but chess skills will help him think strategically and make the right steps in life," he shared his thoughts.
The chess player cut the bonds on the child's legs, together with the child's father took the baby by both hands and led him along the white carpet. Before the ceremony, 31-year-old Ding Lizhen expressed his wishes to the child.
"Today I had a great honor - I took part in this important symbolic ceremony. This is my first time participating in such ceremonies. I hope that whatever path he chooses, the child's life will be happy and his path will be clear," the champion wished.
The young Kazakhstani, walking along the white road, among objects representing different professions, chose a white vizier. According to Kazakh tradition, the child's parents presented Din with a gift as a token of gratitude.
