Contemporary art of Uzbekistan presented in Astana

07 August, 2024

As part of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kazakhstan, several significant events were held in the capital, introducing visitors to the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the neighboring country.

An exhibition of fine and folk applied arts of Uzbekistan opened today at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The exposition presents more than 180 works - these are products made of wood, suzani embroidery, adras and hand-woven silk, works by masters of chasing and miniature, as well as ceramics from various regions.

The exhibition will run until August 8, 2024.

In addition, today there was a screening of the film "Abdulla Oripov: Singer of Independence", directed by M. Erkinov in 2023. The film tells about the life and work of Abdulla Oripov, an outstanding poet and author of the lyrics of the National Anthem of Uzbekistan. The screening of this film became part of the Days of Uzbek Cinema, which will run until August 7, 2024. Tomorrow, viewers will be presented with the comedy "Yasha, Khotin!" (Bravo, wife!), which humorously reveals the theme of family values.
