The Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gani Beisembayev spoke about preparations for the 2024-2025 academic year at a government meeting.
According to him, 3.9 million children, including 360 thousand first-graders, will begin the new academic year in 7.9 thousand secondary education organizations. Today, 90% of schools have already been provided with textbooks.
Along with this, support for students from socially vulnerable categories continues. 22.6 billion tenge have been allocated for the purchase of necessary goods and school supplies within the framework of Universal Education. Thus, 510 thousand children will receive financial support to prepare for school.
Also, from September 1 of this year, 1.7 million Kazakhstani schoolchildren will be covered by free meals. Among them are students in grades 1-4, as well as children from low-income families.
