The Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan announces the start of accepting applications for the National Award "URKER" - 2024" in the field of print, radio and Internet journalism.
Participants in the Award can be republican, regional and international radio stations, print and Internet publications that produce and distribute media content.

Applications will be accepted from August 13 to September 1, 2024 inclusive.
Submitted works must be published between August 7, 2023 and August 11, 2024. Each applicant has the right to participate in only two nominations.
Applications are accepted on the official website of the Award - urker-awards.kz in 12 nominations:
1. Best interview of the year
2. Best report of the year
3. Best material on a social topic
4. Best journalistic investigation of the year
5. Best analytical material of the year
6. Best project on a radio station
7. Best photo of the year
8. Best news portal of the year
9. Best regional media of the year
10. Best international material about Kazakhstan in international media (in the field of print, radio and Internet journalism)
11. Best podcast of the year
12. Best YouTube channel of the year
The works will be evaluated by an independent jury of the Award. The jury includes authoritative journalists, honored figures of the industry and international media experts.
Based on the results of the competition, the best representative of each nomination is awarded the title of Winner with the presentation of a commemorative statuette "URKER" - 2024 and a cash prize of 1,000,000 tenge.
The National Award "URKER" is aimed at promoting the development of multimedia journalism in the regions, increasing the prestige of journalism, approving professional standards and criteria, and increasing civic activity.
