As part of the Tenth Anniversary Championship "Tech Cup X", the national selection for the world Olympiad in robotics FIRST GLOBAL Challenge was held, organized by the Almaty Department of Education and the USTEM Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Education and the Akimat of Almaty.
This prestigious competition unites more than 190 countries and attracts young engineers from all over the world. About 40 teams from Kazakhstan, as well as international teams from Uzbekistan and the UAE, took part in the selection, which included online stages.
The Cristabol team from the Almaty NIS FMS received a license to participate in the world stage. It included students of grades 11-12: Doszhan Dairan, Nurzhan Kokeev, Alfiya Baizhakyp, Dastan Kadylbek and Erdaulet Turgenbaev.
The championship brought together more than 1,500 participants and guests, covering the areas of robotics, rocket science, drones and artificial intelligence.
It should be noted that today Kazakhstan is the current two-time world champion. Young Kazakhstanis won the championship in 2022 in Geneva and confirmed their victory in Singapore in 2023.
The world stage of FIRST Global Challenge will be held in Athens from September 26 to 29, 2024.
