Students of the People's Republic of China from the city of Xi'an arrived for a summer camp at the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi.
During the week, 37 students and 3 teachers from 10 universities in China will get acquainted with the history of Kazakhstan and the cultural heritage of our ancestors. As part of the summer camp, they will also learn about the activities and history of the creation of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi.
This became possible thanks to the cooperation of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi with the Northwestern Polytechnical University of China. Cooperation has been established between the universities on the exchange of teachers and students through the academic mobility program. Currently, a branch of the Northwestern Polytechnical University is successfully operating on the basis of KazNU.
"Our goal is to introduce foreign students to the history of Kazakhstan, tell them more about the universities of the country. And, of course, to attract and interest them in entering our master's program. From the Chinese side, teachers are also participating in today's event. "This camp pays special attention to history and culture," said Dosbol Baikunakov, Dean of the Faculty of History.
In addition, according to the organizers, the students will visit other universities in Almaty, visit museums, historical sites and recreation areas.
"My name is Wendy. I study at the Northwestern Polytechnical University in China. Already entering the territory of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, I felt that the history of this place is very informative and interesting. During the excursion, I got acquainted with the university's chronicle, saw historical photographs. This trip made a special impression on me. I am very glad that I came to Kazakhstan, especially to KazNU," shared her impressions one of the participants of the summer camp Wendy.
