The first group of Paralympians participating in the XVII Summer Paralympic Games has left for Paris. The delegation includes athletes representing the national teams in sitting volleyball, para-table tennis and para-swimming.
It is worth noting that the national sitting volleyball team received a license to participate in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games for the first time in 28 years. In addition, the para-table tennis license was the first in the country's history in this sport.
The national para-swimming team includes such famous athletes as the 2012 London Paralympic Games champion Zulfiya Gabidullina, the bronze medalist of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games Nurdaulet Zhumagali, as well as winners of international competitions Siyazbek Daliyev and Amir Muratbekov.
In total, Kazakhstani athletes won 33 licenses in 9 sports at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. The Games will be held from August 28 to September 8.
