We say: "Shubat is power." So what is the power of this drink? Scientists who have studied the unique composition of Shubat claim that this healthy drink cannot be stored for more than five days, turkystan.kz reports with reference to nur.kz.

What is Shubat and how is it prepared?

Shubat is one of the drinks that Kazakhs often drink in the summer. Shubat is prepared by fermenting camel milk. The beneficial vitamins contained in it have been studied for a long time, and scientists are still studying this unique drink. Kazakhs also called shubat "shal".

The drink is prepared on the basis of camel milk. The famous scientist and therapist Dan Brennan studied the anti-allergic and anti-diabetic properties of Shubat. Shubat is white, the fat content and density of the drink are higher than that of kumys.

Researcher at the Almaty Technological University E.K. Asembaeva suggests fermenting shubat as follows:
Mix fresh camel milk and yeast and pour into a wooden container or leather bag (skin).
Close the neck of the container tightly and leave the drink for about 7 hours.
Stir the shubat only before drinking.

The article "Shubat - a drink that increases healing during fermentation" describes in detail the method of fermenting shubat:
To prepare shubat, freshly milked camel milk is filtered and cooled to 30-35 degrees. Then pour milk into an oak barrel, add yeast and slowly stir with a wooden ladle for 20-30 minutes. Camel milk contains a complex protein called casein, during fermentation it coagulates and settles into the sediment. It must be crushed by shaking the milk. The fermentation process takes place at a temperature of 20-25 degrees. The quality of shubat depends on the ferment. In order for the drink to form as many useful elements as possible, 10-20 hours are needed. Then it is cooled. Only after this can shubat be consumed.

Young shubat is fermented camel milk for a day.
Medium-strength shubat is camel milk fermented for two days.
Strong shubat is camel milk fermented for more than three days. Strong shubat is considered the best.
Fermented shubat is cooled for 10-12 hours. The drink is ready to drink.

In Turkmenistan, this drink is called "agaran". It is known that Turkmens often use it to make cocktails and desserts.

Shubat has a very short shelf life. If the drink is not stored in the refrigerator, the next day after it is ready, shubat will turn sour and become undrinkable. The drink can be stored at a temperature of up to +5°C for about 5 days. Therefore, this drink is not exported, and it is also rarely found on store shelves.

What are the benefits of shubat?

In its composition, shubat is very similar to cow's milk. It contains amino acids, thanks to which shubat becomes an indispensable source of protein with a low content of fat and cholesterol. Svetlana Vladimirovna Mogilyuk, a candidate of geographical sciences, believes that shubat is very beneficial for health due to the many minerals and vitamins it contains:
Since it contains calcium and phosphorus, bone tissue is strengthened.
Vitamin D prevents osteoporosis in adults and rickets in children.
Potassium and magnesium improve the functioning of the heart muscle.Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) strengthens the immune system and increases the body's defenses. B vitamins regulate the nervous system, prevent insomnia and fatigue.
Scientist Tabusi Manaer and his colleagues claim that shubat has antidiabetic properties. It turns out that the drink reduces the amount of glucose in the blood. Shubat is useful for diseases of the biliary tract and liver, and also prevents vitamin deficiency and diabetes, and is considered an indispensable healthy drink for restoring the body.

Who should not drink Shubat?

In some cases, shubat can harm the body:
- People who are allergic to dairy products should be careful when trying it for the first time.
- If the intestinal microflora is disturbed, it is not recommended to drink shubat warm. In this case, it further aggravates diarrhea due to the many active substances it contains.
- Since the fat content of Shubat reaches 8 percent, it should not be consumed by people prone to gaining excess weight.

The Kazakh people pass on the methods of preparing and consuming this valuable drink from generation to generation. If you use shubat correctly, it will strengthen your health and bring great benefits to the human body.
