Deputy Amanzhol Altay spoke at a plenary session with criticism of airlines for the unresolved problem of transporting the dombra in hand luggage. The Ministry of Transport promised to fix this issue, the correspondent of the Kazinform agency reports.

According to the deputy Altay, the ban on carrying the dombra on board an airplane is an expression of the airlines' disdain for the national symbol and values. He believes that every representative of art should have the right to take the dombra with them on board.

- When will you make them take into account our national component, even in terrible years our great-grandfathers, grandfathers did not abandon the dombra. How can this issue be regulated? - he clarified.

In his response, Vice Minister of Transport Satzhan Ablaliyev recalled that the transportation of musical instruments on board aircraft depends on their dimensions. Some instruments cannot be placed on the shelves of modern aircraft, which is why such misunderstandings occur.

- Currently, work is underway with airlines to solve this problem. If necessary, we are ready to make changes to the conditions for the carriage of baggage and hand luggage. We are trying to resolve this issue, taking into account the capabilities of aircraft, said Ablaliev.
