PhD, Professor at the University of Arizona Shane Campbell-Burgess arrived in Kostanay to discuss the details of cooperation between Kazakh and American universities. The main goal of this cooperation is to develop the region's agro-industrial complex with an emphasis on increasing its innovative potential and competitiveness.
Professor Shane Campbell-Burgess expressed interest in research aimed at increasing crop yields and livestock productivity. The meeting discussed issues of food security and scientific approaches to the development of the agro-industrial complex. In particular, the topics of the threat of extinction of the Kostanay horse breed, the need for in-depth research in the field of soil toxicology, water resource monitoring and other pressing issues were raised.
Recall that during the spring visit of representatives of the University of Arizona to Kostanay, a preliminary agreement was reached on opening a research center at the Akhmet Baitursynov Kostanay Regional University. It is expected that on the basis of this center, Kostanay and American scientists will jointly engage in analysis and scientific developments in the field of meat and dairy farming, horse breeding and cultivation of field crops.
The regional leadership has already allocated a land plot to Baitursynuly University for joint field research. As part of his visit, Shane Campbell-Burgess also visited a number of agricultural enterprises - partners of Kostanay University, including TOO "Kazakh Tulpary", TOO "Zarechnoye" and TOO "Sadchikovskoye".
