Cash prizes will be awarded to 26 Kazakhstani schoolchildren who won prizes at the TOP-7 prestigious Olympiads. The total amount of the reward will exceed 77.5 million tenge.
According to the results of the 2023-2024 academic year, the collection of our country's team was replenished with 2 gold, 12 silver, 12 bronze medals and one certificate won at the most prestigious world subject Olympiads. They include IMO (mathematics), IPhO (physics), IBO (biology), IChO (chemistry), IOL (linguistics), IGeO (geography) and IOI (computer science).
In order to support talented students, starting from 2022, on the instructions of the Head of State, for a prize place at international Olympiads, our schoolchildren and the teachers who trained them receive a one-time reward from the state: for gold - 1,500 MCI, silver - 1,000 MCI and bronze - 500 MCI. The teacher who trained the winner of the gold medal - 26.5 times the basic salary, silver - 17.5 times the BDO, bronze - 8.5 times the BDO. In addition, the winners of international Olympiads are also holders of educational grants for admission to any Kazakhstani university. The total amount of remuneration will exceed 77.5 million tenge.
Recall that last year, 23 schoolchildren received one-time rewards in the amount of 65.6 million tenge and 20 teachers for a total of 71.4 million tenge. In total, out of 1,218 Kazakhstani schoolchildren who took part in 12 major international competitions, 603 became medal winners. That is, every second participant from our country won a prize place.
