The second Qazaqstan IGF 2024: National Internet Governance Forum will be held on October 16, 2024, in the leading IT hub of Almaty, SmArtPoint. This significant event promotes the creation of an open and secure digital space in Kazakhstan.

As part of the global Internet Governance Forum (IGF), IGF national initiatives are represented in 106 countries across four continents, held under the auspices of the General Secretariat of the United Nations (UN).

Qazaqstan IGF is a unique annual national forum with the participation of more than 200 representatives of government agencies, the private sector, civil society and academia to discuss a wide range of issues related to Internet governance and cybersecurity.

In particular, the event will cover the following topics:

Multilateral Internet governance as a way to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);

Privacy in the era of artificial intelligence;

Evolution of cryptocurrencies and their regulation;

Private communication networks, overcoming digital inequality;

Parliamentary initiative: codification of digital legislation;

The role of women in the digital future of Kazakhstan;

National regulation of online platforms; and much more.

In addition, the event will present the results of the "Digital Rights Compliance Rating 2024" in three sectors: telecom, fintech and e-commerce, taking into account indicators on corporate governance, freedom of expression and privacy, compiled by experts from the law firm "Digital Rights Center Qazaqstan" (DRCQ).Qazaqstan IGF 2024 is organized by the Eurasian Digital Foundation and DRCQ with the official support of the General Secretariat of the United Nations, in partnership with the Information Security Committee of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Digital Paradigm Foundation, Maqsut Narikbayev University and the Blockchain Technology Developers and Users Association BlockchainKZ.

The IGF national initiative stimulates the construction of a multilateral dialogue and is in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals #9 “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure” and #17 “Partnership for Sustainable Development”.
