"Bauyrina Salu" has been approved for nomination for an Oscar.

The film by director Askhat Kuchinchirekov was created with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information, as well as the National Cinema Support Center. It received the highest award of the national Tulpar award based on the results of the vote of the Alliance members and was recommended to the Oscar Committee to represent Kazakhstan in the International Feature Film nomination. 

The American Academy's voting will be held in three stages. From December 9 to 13, academics will select a shortlist, which will be announced on December 17. Voting on the shortlist will take place from January 8 to 12, 2025. Based on its results, nominees in all categories will be announced on January 17. The third, final stage will be held from February 11 to 18.

The names of the winners will be announced at a gala envelope opening ceremony on March 2, 2025 in Los Angeles. If the film is nominated, the director will receive an invitation to the ceremony. The statuette in the International Feature Film category will indicate the country, title of the film and the name of the director.
