The film "Qajymuqan" will be released on October 10.
Director Kanagat Mustafin began working on the script for the historical film in 2012, and filming began in 2020. As a result, he spent more than 10 years of research to present this unique story on the big screen.
The film was created with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Center for Support of National Cinema. Kazhymuqan Munaitpasov is the first Kazakh to win the title of world champion in French wrestling. He has repeatedly won world, Russian, regional, and then all-Union championships in Greco-Roman wrestling among super heavyweights, becoming the owner of about fifty awards and medals of various standards.
"He proved himself by defeating the best wrestlers of his time. Kazhymuqan became the first Kazakh known throughout the world for his sporting achievements. In cities such as Paris, London, Berlin, Istanbul, Buenos Aires and Chicago, the audience applauded our famous compatriot,” the director emphasizes.
It is important that the younger generation knows about the achievements of Kazymukan Munaitpasov, a great wrestler who became a symbol of strength, courage and sporting spirit for the entire Kazakh people.
