The award ceremony for the winners of the National Prize "URKER-2024" was held in Astana. The prize is awarded for the best achievements in the field of print, radio, Internet journalism and is aimed at developing multimedia journalism in the regions, increasing the prestige of the profession, and establishing standards and criteria in the media.

This year, over 400 applications were received for the prize. 52 nominees were shortlisted.

The works were evaluated by an independent jury, which included authoritative journalists, honored figures in the industry and international media experts.

Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva thanked the participants for their interest in the National Prize and for their contribution to the development of the domestic media sphere.

Aida Balayeva also presented the special prize "URKER-2024" to the editorial board of the newspaper "Vremya", which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
The newspaper "Zan" also received a special prize in honor of the 100th anniversary of Berdibek Sokpakbaev.

The winners were awarded commemorative statuettes and cash prizes in the amount of 1,000,000 tenge.
