As part of a working visit to South Korea, the Vice Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Askarbek Yertayev, held a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Employment and Labor of the Republic of Korea. During the talks, the parties discussed the inclusion of Kazakhstan in the Employment Permit System (hereinafter referred to as EPS) in South Korea.

“Kazakhstan is taking a number of comprehensive measures aimed at further improving the legal framework for protecting the labor and social rights of migrants. In particular, a multidisciplinary center for professional and language training for citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan wishing to work in the Republic of Korea is being created in Almaty,” Askarbek Yertayev informed.
He also reported that a number of social and production facilities have been identified that are ready to conduct testing, medical examinations, and advanced training in technical professions.

“Together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, issues are being worked out to strengthen measures aimed at preventing illegal migration and creating conditions for expanding legal labor activity,” the Vice Minister added.

Following the negotiations, representatives of the Ministry of Employment and Labor of the Republic of Korea once again confirmed their intention to include Kazakhstan in the EPS system, which will provide Kazakhstani citizens with the opportunity to legally work in South Korea under concluded labor contracts.

At the end of the meeting, the parties noted the importance of deepening cooperation between Kazakhstan and South Korea in the field of labor migration, which will improve conditions for Kazakhstani citizens seeking employment abroad, as well as improve the level of their professional training.
