Aibek Smadiyarov Appointed Chairman of the Committee for International Information – Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan
Aibek Smadiyarov has been appointed as the Chairman of the Committee for International Information and the Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Born on July 7, 1983, in the South Kazakhstan region, he graduated from Abylai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages in 2004.
He began his professional career in 2005 as a specialist in the Administrative Department of Bank of China in Kazakhstan.
From 2006 to 2008, he worked as a specialist in the Consular Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan. Between 2008 and 2010, he held positions as an Attaché and Third Secretary in the Europe Department of the MFA.
Between 2010 and 2012, he served as Third Secretary at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Hungary. From 2012 to 2013, he worked as an Expert in the Press Service of the President of Kazakhstan. From 2013 to 2014, he was First Secretary of the Committee for Foreign Policy Analysis and Forecasting of the MFA. Between 2014 and 2018, he held the positions of Second Secretary and First Secretary at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Vietnam.
From 2018 to 2019, he headed the Press Service of the MFA, and from 2019 to 2023, he served as Deputy Chairman of the Committee for International Information – Press Secretary of the MFA.
Prior to his appointment as Chairman of the Committee for International Information, he served as Director of the Communications Department – Official Spokesperson of the MFA since June 2023.
He holds the diplomatic rank of Minister-Counselor (Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Envoy, II Class).
He is fluent in Kazakh, Russian, English, and Turkish.
