Silk Road exploration to continue in Kazakhstan

The Issyk Branch of the Center for Joint Archaeological Research of the Silk Road of the Northwest University, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China, was opened in the Esik State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve.

In the future, the branch will carry out work on the study, preservation, and promotion of archaeological and historical-cultural heritage sites within the framework of international cooperation to study the archaeology of the Silk Road.

During the event, an agreement was signed between the center and the museum-reserve and a branch certificate was presented. A round table was also organized with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, specialists in the field of museology, archeology, and representatives of local executive bodies.

Representatives of the delegation headed by the head of the Center, Professor Zhao Rong, specially arrived for the official opening of the branch.
It is worth noting that the Esik Museum-Reserve pays special attention to establishing close relations with foreign colleagues.

The museum-reserve has been cooperating with the Shaanxi Archaeological Institute in Xi'an since 2017 and jointly working in the field of scientific and archaeological research.
