Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov met with the Ambassador of France to Kazakhstan Sylvain Guiguet.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector between the countries. The Minister noted that one of the priority areas is increasing the volume of mutual trade.
The turnover of agricultural products between the countries for 8 months of 2024 amounted to $ 67 million, including exports from Kazakhstan to France increased almost 6 times due to an increase in the export of rapeseed.
During the meeting, issues of amending the veterinary requirements for the export of small ruminants were discussed, a joint project to improve Kazakh breeds using artificial insemination and semen of the French cattle breed, implemented by Synetics and JSC Asyl-Tulik, was considered.
The meeting participants also discussed the implementation of a project to expand the capacity of Danone and localize the production of Limagrain seeds in Kazakhstan.
Every year, the Danone plant produces more than 50 types of high-tech fermented milk products with a total volume of 18 thousand tons, 40% of which are exported to the countries of Central Asia, the Caucasus and Mongolia. For the production of yoghurts, the company uses exclusively milk from Kazakhstani farmers.
In 2025, it is planned to install an additional line worth 730 million tenge.
The issue of exporting horse meat to the European market has also become one of the key issues.
Recall that within the framework of the Livestock Summit, held in early October in France, an agreement on cooperation in organizing horse meat supplies was signed between the companies "Kaiyp Ata" and "Pegase BVS". Today, peasant and farming enterprises are interested in exporting horse meat to France.
At the end of the meeting, Aidarbek Saparov expressed confidence that the issues raised will contribute to the further development of cooperation in the field of agriculture between the countries.
