In honor of the national holiday, the Ministry of Defense organized an official reception for representatives of the military-diplomatic corps accredited in Kazakhstan.
Welcoming the participants of the meeting, Deputy Minister of Defense Major General Bakytbek Sydykov expressed gratitude to the military attachés for their contribution to strengthening bilateral relations between the armed forces.
He noted that this year, as part of Kazakhstan's chairmanship of international organizations, the SCO Defense Ministers' Meeting was held in Astana, and the CSTO Defense Ministers' Council meeting was held in Almaty.
"Kazakhstan firmly adheres to a peaceful, balanced foreign policy and convincingly demonstrates its commitment to broad multilateral cooperation in strict accordance with the UN Charter. We support its peacekeeping activities, disarmament initiatives and advocate the settlement of armed conflicts by diplomatic means," he emphasized.
The representative of the defense department recalled that Kazakhstanis are represented as military observers in UN missions in Western Sahara, the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Our peacekeepers also serve in Lebanon as part of the military contingent of the Italian Army.
– In March of this year, the national peacekeeping contingent of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the amount of 139 servicemen was deployed in the UN mission on the Golan Heights, – the Deputy Minister continued.
Major General B. Sydykov also thanked the partners for supporting the Kazakh initiative in holding the first regional exercise "Birlestik".
The response speech was made by the dean of the military attaché at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Kazakhstan, Colonel Tomas Rziman. On behalf of the military-diplomatic corps, he thanked the Kazakh side for constructive, mutually beneficial cooperation.
The event ended with a festive concert prepared by the creative team of the National Military-Patriotic Center of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
