30 October, 2024

The Committee of Archives, Documentation and Book Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan has prepared video materials based on film, photo and audio documents stored in the Central State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Recordings.

Historical videos can be seen in 24 cinemas in Astana, Almaty, Shymkent and other regional centers.

The screening takes place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the evening.

The videos cover various topics, such as "The very first photograph in the history of Kazakhstan", "The very first audio recording in the history of Kazakhstan", "TURKSIB - the road that connected East and West", "The evolution of Almaty architecture", "Ethnographic photographs brought to life with the help of a neural network", etc.

The project was implemented thanks to the conclusion of a memorandum of cooperation and interaction on the popularization and promotion of audiovisual documents between the Committee of Archives, Documentation and Books of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Cinema Park represented by TOO "CINEMA INVEST GROUP".

This initiative is aimed at attracting the attention of viewers to historical materials and strengthening interest in Russian history and culture.
