TikTok Announces Annual Competition for Educators

06 November, 2024

The leading platform for viewing and creating short videos TikTok, with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is launching the #Kazakhstanmugalimderi or #TeachersofKazakhstan competition. The competition is being held for the third year in a row, and both school teachers and college and university lecturers can take part in it.

The initiative has inspired many teachers across the country to start sharing their knowledge with the platform's audience. The winners of the competition in previous years, including Botagoz Omarova, Igor Gnoevoy, Khaidar Murzakhmetov, were able to win the love of a wide audience, collecting millions of likes on their videos.

“Thanks to the competition, I learned to find new approaches to creating educational content and sharing my knowledge in an engaging way. This allowed me to go beyond traditional teaching and find a way to convey complex topics to students in a more understandable and interesting way. “It was especially gratifying for me to see how my students started discussing physics, sharing their thoughts, and even coming up with new ideas for experiments,” says the 2023 winner of the competition, physics teacher Khaidar Murzakhmetov.

The competition is open to school teachers, college teachers, and university professors who create educational content on TikTok or want to start creating it. From November 4 to December 3, 2024, participants will need to publish short educational videos on the platform that are relevant to their subject. It is important that the videos are at least 30 seconds long and use the competition hashtag #тучествакахстана.

This year, three participants from among teachers or university professors will be the winners of the national competition. They will be determined based on a set of criteria, including the number of likes, the number of views, the quality of the videos, and their relevance to the subject taught.

The winners of the competition will receive iPhone 16 Pro smartphones, which will help them create even better video content and continue to develop on TikTok.

Detailed rules are available on the page https://activity.tiktok.com in the TikTok app.
