In the Turkestan region, about 900 citizens received the status of “kandas”

Over 9 months, 875 ethnic Kazakhs, comprising 472 families, moved to the Turkestan region. As a result, they were given the status of "kandas".

853 people from Uzbekistan, 11 from Tajikistan and 11 from other countries moved to the region. 345 ethnic Kazakhs settled in the Saryagash district, 138 in the Ordabasy district, 121 in the Kazygurt district, 119 in the Keles district, 73 in the Sairam district, 24 in the Zhetysay district, 14 in the Tulkibas district, 23 in the Maktaral district, 13 people settled in the city of Turkestan, 5 people settled in other districts and cities.

Of the ethnic migrants, 498 are able-bodied. Among them are 17 employees, 175 self-employed, 154 unemployed or job seekers and 152 other categories.

As for the issue of internal migration, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population allocated 7,050 quotas for the republic for 2024 and identified 7 regions that will provide state support to relatives and migrants. These are Abay, Karaganda, Kostanay, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan regions, and Ulytau region.
