Today, the grand opening of the 20th International Performers Competition "Astana-Merey" took place at the Kazakh National University of Arts.

"Classical music is not just a set of sounds, it is a language that resonates in our hearts, evokes emotions and inspires new achievements. These days, we will hear the immortal works of great composers performed by young and talented musicians," said Acting Rector of KazNUA Raushan Nurtaza in her welcoming speech.

This year, 160 young performers from 13 regions of Kazakhstan are participating in the "Astana-Merey" competition. Contestants aged 6 to 18 perform in the following nominations: violin, viola, cello, double bass, harp, piano and piano ensemble. As part of the competition, all participants will have a chance to demonstrate their skills, and based on the results of the auditions, the jury will determine the winners.
