15 November, 2024

The Kazakh-Chinese tourism business dialogue, organized as part of the Year of Kazakhstan Tourism in China, took place in the capital of Kazakhstan.
The event was attended by the Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erbol Myrzabosynov, President of the China Tourism Academy (CTA), Professor Dai Bing, Deputy Akim of Astana Yevgeny Glotov, as well as representatives of the delegation of the People's Republic of China.

In his welcoming speech, Erbol Myrzabosynov emphasized the importance of the event and expressed confidence that the open business dialogue would become an important platform for all participants, facilitating successful negotiations for the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.

“On the initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, 2024 has been declared the Year of Kazakhstan Tourism in China. Earlier, a mutual visa-free agreement was introduced, thanks to which the number of tourists from China exceeded half a million in the first 10 months of this year, which is 30% more than in the same period last year. This allowed China to enter the top five countries in terms of the number of tourists visiting Kazakhstan. The number of air connections has also increased: 42 regular direct and 7 charter flights are carried out between Kazakhstan and China,” said Yerbol Myrzabosynov.

As part of the Year of Tourism, about 30 events were held in the two countries, including Days of Tourism and Culture of Kazakh Cities, major exhibitions, forums, as well as cultural and B2B events. Holding the Year of Tourism of Kazakhstan in China opened up new prospects for the development of both countries and strengthening friendly relations at the interstate level.

Following the event, the parties agreed that the final results of the Year of Tourism will be summed up at the closing ceremony scheduled for November 27, 2024 in Almaty.
