As of November 1, 2024, targeted social assistance (hereinafter referred to as TSA) has been assigned to 403 thousand people from 76 thousand families. This year, 54.7 billion tenge has been allocated from the budget for these purposes.
As previously reported, the main goal of TSA is to help a family get out of a difficult life situation by providing support in the form of cash payments and involving able-bodied family members in active measures to promote employment.
TAS provides for:
- quarterly assignment of social assistance to citizens whose income does not exceed 70% of the regional subsistence minimum;
- provision of a monthly additional payment to children from low-income families aged 1 to 6 years inclusive in the amount of 1.5 MCI (5,538 tenge) for each child. As of November 1 of this year, an additional payment was assigned to 126 thousand preschool-age children from among TSA recipients in the amount of 4.5 billion tenge;
- assistance in employment through job placement, provision of grants to families motivated to start their own business, referral to advanced training courses (if necessary) and others.
Currently, Kazakhstanis can apply for the appointment of ASP by contacting a career center, the akim of the rural district at their place of residence or through the e-government portal (egov.kz).
