The 10th European Physics Olympiad (EuPhO 2026) has concluded in the city of Gothenburg, Kingdom of Sweden. More than 200 schoolchildren from 41 countries around the world took part in this prestigious international competition.
The national team of the Republic of Kazakhstan achieved a high result, winning 3 silver and 1 bronze medal.
The silver medals were awarded to:
Argyn Seitkamit, an 11th-grade student at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School (NIS) of Physics and Mathematics in the Nura district of Astana;
Tair Abdikadyr, an 11th-grade student at the Bilim-Innovation Lyceum-Boarding School of the Kostanay Region;
Mergen Sabyrov, a 10th-grade student at the Nurorda School-Lyceum in Astana.
The bronze medal was awarded to:
Abylaikhan Zholaman, a 10th-grade student at the Nurorda School in Almaty.
The participation of the national team in the international olympiad was coordinated by Bekmyrza Beisenov, a senior lecturer at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and Temirlan Ismagulov, a laureate of international olympiads.
The European Physics Olympiad is one of the premier international competitions evaluating the theoretical knowledge and experimental skills of gifted schoolchildren in the field of physics. This latest achievement of Kazakhstani students confirms the high level of training of young physicists and contributes to strengthening the country's prestige in the international educational space.
