As part of the world’s largest international tourism trade fair, ITB Berlin, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of cooperation with Deutscher Reiseverband.
Kazakhstan’s national stand is represented by 21 inbound tour operators, representatives of the hospitality sector, restaurants specialising in Kazakh cuisine, as well as six regions of the country.
The country’s gastronomic potential is presented separately with the support of the restaurant project network Sandyq Group.
In accordance with the agreements reached, the DRV Destination Forum will be held in August 2026 in Astana. The programme will include presentations of Kazakhstan’s tourism opportunities, B2B meetings with German tour operators, and familiarisation with the country’s key destinations and tourism infrastructure. The forum will serve as a practical mechanism for integrating Kazakhstan’s tourism products into the German market.
“The main objective of the agreement is to include tours to Kazakhstan in the catalogues of leading German tour operators and to actively promote them in Germany. The DRV Forum sends an important signal to the entire German tourism community that cooperation between our two countries in the field of tourism is reaching a new level,” noted Acting Chairman of the Tourism Industry Committee Nurbol Baizhanov.
It should be noted that ITB Berlin is one of the world’s leading tourism business platforms, and participation in the event strengthens Kazakhstan’s position in the European market. In 2025, approximately 100,000 citizens of Germany visited Kazakhstan.
The signing of the memorandum and the organisation of the forum reflect consistent efforts to expand international partnerships, diversify inbound tourist flows, and strengthen Kazakhstan’s status as a competitive tourism and business destination.
Deutscher Reiseverband is Germany’s industry tourism association, bringing together more than 3,000 companies. Its members account for around 90% of organised travel undertaken by German citizens. The association plays a key role in shaping the industry agenda, influencing the development of tourism policy in Germany, and exerting a significant impact on the international travel market.
