The Astana Opera Theatre hosted the premiere of the mono-opera “Tolyk Adam. Oy Tolgau. Khakim Abai”, dedicated to the work of the great Kazakh poet, philosopher and thinker Abai Kunanbayev.

The author and performer of the work is People's Artist of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan Shakhimardan Abilov. His partner on stage was the laureate of international competitions, talented pianist Aliyar Otetileu.

The audience enjoyed famous works of Abai, such as “Kozimnin Karasy”, “Segiz Ayak”, “Boyy Bulgan” and others, which were accompanied by a rich musical program and carried a deep moral and educational meaning. The performances of young artists of the choral studio “Astana Opera” attracted the attention of the audience. They performed the songs “Zhelsiz tunde zharyk ay” and “Aittym salem, Kalamkas”.
