25 November, 2025

On 24–25 November, the 12th World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), dedicated to the theme “Humanity.io: Human Values at the Heart of Education”, was held in the capital of Qatar. The summit brought together more than 200 leading experts in the fields of education, science, technology, public policy and social development. The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, took part in the event.

During the working sessions, participants discussed a key question: how, amid the rapid development of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, to uphold the primacy of human values in educational processes and ensure that learning systems adapt to the challenges of the digital era.

The summit’s programme was structured around five strategic areas: prioritising human needs in education; introducing innovative learning models; transforming skills in higher education; driving systemic change within the education sector; and strengthening the link between education, economic opportunities and the social resilience of society.

As part of the forum, the Minister also participated in a roundtable meeting of ministers, which brought together heads of educational authorities from various countries. The session focused on global trends, sustainable education policy models and the role of governments in ensuring a human-centred approach to the development of education systems. Participants underscored the importance of international cooperation and the exchange of best practices, expressing their readiness to strengthen partnerships in addressing shared challenges.

In addition, Sayasat Nurbek delivered a lecture for students of Georgetown University Qatar titled “Act Globally – Think Locally: Education Reforms”. The Minister presented the key directions of Kazakhstan’s education system transformation, including the establishment of 40 campuses of leading global universities, the creation of AI University as a national centre of excellence in artificial intelligence, the expansion of the “Bolashaq” scholarship programme, and the integration of international educational platforms, including Coursera and NVIDIA, aimed at preparing a new generation of specialists.

The initiatives presented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan were highly commended by summit participants.
